During our health outreach missions we noticed that the children mainly suffer from dental problems and bad oral hygiene. As many as 71% of children appeared to have cavities, 40% of the children were classified to have moderate to bad teeth and nearly 25% of children were thought to need a tooth extraction. That is why our nursing students also organised a dental outreach mission in collaboration with Minimolars Cambodia Phnom Penh.

During this two day mission, we were able to help over 100 children. Their teeth were cleaned, polished, cavities filled and rotten teeth extracted. In addition, they received instructions on oral hygiene and toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed. This pilot mission is a first step towards yet another new project and another new collaboration!
